Genealogy takes root

Where the path(s) begins...
Notes on my path to researching my family history.

For me, my earliest memories of understanding the connections to my families were from my Mother pointing out my relatives at family reunions.
Then in 4-H, there were Genealogy projects.
We would visit cemeteries and do grave crayon rubbings.

There was a long break between my Social Studies Project on genealogy to marriage and motherhood.  I worked on our WV State’s History Museum as a design consultant and cad draftsman.
My interest became rejuvenated adding my families’ stories to the many others in our state’s heritage narrative.
I joined Ancestry.com in 2011 and added my Mother as a partner. She uploaded 35+ years of data.
Needless to say, we have a growing resource of our family trees. An expanding orchard, you could say.
